Johanna Gilje engages with research as performance and performance as research, crafting both practical and theoretical approaches to the body as a site of social inquiry. Currently based in Berlin, she makes work surrounding themes of body, process and archive in performance, most recently centered around the form of the interview and the mapping of conversations. The first iteration of the desire to contain and the inevitability of rupture, was published in March 2016 by the Evergreen State College Press.
